Overview of the community programs available to Portugal. Which programs can finance projects in the field of arts and culture. Map of designations and terms that will accompany us throughout the following classes.

Subsidiary programmes. What support will be provided to arts and culture in Portugal 2020? How was PT2020, the regional organisation, organised? The role of Intermunicipal Communities and Territorial Pacts. Learn about the reference documents and the application notices system. What does the future hold for 2021-2027?

Programmes managed directly by the beneficiary and the European Commission. What are the differences compared to support exclusively for Portugal? Which are the most relevant for arts and culture: Creative Europe; Erasmus+; Citizens' Europe, etc. What reference documents should be taken into account and which entities are responsible in Portugal? Where can I find information and where can I apply?

Transforming an idea into a project. The project objectives and program priorities. The need to align and adapt the idea to the funding instrument. What are the fundamental steps: budget, teams, actions and activities, project management and communication. Distribution of working groups.

Registration in national and European Commission databases. in the Portugal 2020 and European Commission databases. How to find the right partners? Mechanisms for finding and offering partnerships. How to find inspiration in examples and good practices.

Differences between Community programmes. The importance of wording and terminology. European added value. The answer to the central questions of the form, internal and external coherence. Partnerships and partners. Examples.

This course has a strong practical component to enable students to develop a concrete idea and transform it into a project that is potentially a candidate for Community Funds. Throughout the classes we will work on ideas, dedicating the final class to their presentation and sharing.
Born on May 20, 1969, he holds a master's degree in Geography and Regional and Local Planning. His professional life is linked to the management of community funds in Portugal and international cooperation projects, in the Portuguese Public Administration, in the European Commission and currently in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
