The third session of the book club with Mariana Alvim, which takes place on July 9th at Fernando Piteira Santos Municipal LibraryThe event in Amadora will feature the presence of the writer Madalena Sá Fernandes.

The meetings, which take place every month in the Rogério Rodrigues Auditorium inside the Library, are dedicated to the books that accompany us, surprise us, and stay in our memory. Each participant is invited to bring a book they particularly enjoyed to share their recommendation with the group. One thing is certain: no one leaves this meeting without new suggestions to add to their reading list. Admission is free.

Mariana Alvim, a radio presenter at RFM, is the author of the award-winning podcast "Vale a Pena" (It's Worth It), where guests introduce themselves as readers and share their favorite books. Before radio, she worked in marketing and was a screenwriter for television series. She is also the author of the young adult series "Estou Tramada" (I'm in Trouble), a mother of three boys, and whenever she can, she's engrossed in a book.

Madalena Sá Fernandes was born in Lisbon in 1993. She graduated in Languages, Literatures and Cultures from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. She writes columns for the newspaper Público. Leme, her debut book, was published in 2023 by Companhia das Letras. Deriva, her second book, is composed of a selection of her columns from Público and several previously unpublished texts.

This initiative is part of the programming at the Fernando Piteira Santos Municipal Library in Amadora, programmed and produced by Gerador.
