Support Gerador in building a more creative, critical and participatory society. Find out how here.

The Parliament of Words is a project of Gerador which involves young people in a process of listening, sharing stories and creating content on topics such as democracy, human rights, social justice, diversity, freedom of expression and civic participation.
In collaboration with the associations CoolBrave and Moinho da Juventude, in Amadora, the project challenged 50 young people to identify the concerns, inequalities, and stories they feel are under-heard, and to create original audiovisual works based on them.
The videos were first presented at the Amadora Book Fair on September 12th.
This initiative is integrated into the European project Artvocacy for the (U)nion (ART4U), developed by an international consortium coordinated by MasterPeace (Netherlands) in partnership with Gerador (Portugal), Autres Directions (Netherlands), El Sistema Greece (Greece), Multigenerational Community Foundation (Poland) and Youth for Exchange and Understanding (Belgium).
The videos were presented at the Amadora Book Fair, at the Fernando Piteira Santos Municipal Library, on September 12th.

Parliament of Words: what would you like to bring to Parliament?
What worries you? What would you like to change? And what stories deserve more discussion? We will start from the ideas and concerns reflected in the videos presented, moving towards a moment of sharing, exchanging ideas, and collective thinking. The debate will include representatives from the CoolBrave and Moinho da Juventude associations, as well as the authors of the works.
This initiative is part of the Amadora Book Festival. Discover the program here.
Here's a brief preview of the themes that 50 young people chose to explore through original videos. The final works were presented on September 12th at the Amadora Book Festival.
