From October 3 to November 26, 2023, the Gerador temporarily moved to a 5-story building in central Lisbon to to Premier a Season of live initiatives that made you think.
Were 2 months of events with list varied, but with a action which took place in a single place: number 7, Rua de São Marçal, in Lisbon, next to Praça das Flores.
Journalism, reflections on the collective colonial memory, movies e crop were some of the themes that entered the narrative.

The pilot episode of the Season has a luxury cast. We debut the Magazine Gerador 42 with the wording of the Gerador and an augmented reality creation of ±MoreLess±, from the cover of this edition, also signed by the artist.
The action unfolds and we think about journalism in a debate with Miguel Crespo placeholder image (Iberifier – Iberian Observatory of Digital Media and Disinformation), Paula Cardoso (Afrolink) and Pedro Coelho (SO).
We surprised everyone and everything in the final scene, with Gonçalo M. Tavares who comes to talk to us about artificial intelligence, the theme that infects issue 42 of the Magazine.


O Manifest is a transnational project focused on the importance of art for collective memory and which aims to disseminate new artistic perspectives that address the theme of the transatlantic trade of enslaved people.
After a period of artistic residency in Lisbon, this Season, 12 international artistic projects make their work known in the first ShowCase public.

The seventh art plays a leading role in this program in partnership with the Portuguese Academy of Cinema. We open doors with a debate in which Andre Weaver, Ary Zara, Ciomara Morais e Paula Cardoso, the jury for the selection of projects for the “Pitch Me!” initiative, reflect on the importance of promoting the diversity of narratives in audiovisual media in Portugal.
The narrative continues with Goncalo Galvao Teles e Pandora Cunha and Telles, protagonists of the Pitching masterclass: the training in which you will learn more about the art of presenting a script idea. This is followed by a live interview with the president and vice-president of the Portuguese Academy of Cinema, Paul Trancoso e Carla Chambel. We end with a short film showcase that revisits the 10 years of Sophia Student.
From 15pm to 19:30pm there is still time to enjoy the Afrolink Market.


Lusotropicalism is the myth that extols Portuguese colonization and the name of the project Gerador which addresses the way Portuguese society views this period.
On this day we open doors to reflection on this topic, starting with the presentation of the library of resources that Gerador created based on the report «Restitution to former colonies: the struggle for the liberation of memory and identity». These are books, films, essays, and others that reflect on the importance of reparation actions towards people subjected to slavery and colonialism. The researcher Kitty Furtado part of some of them to reflect, more broadly, on the issue. See here.
The day continues with the curation of BANTUMEN. We received the journalist Beatriz Neves, Celestino Bastos (Biso movement) and Ruben Sanches (Domino Effect association) in a debate moderated by Marisa Rodrigues on how colonial ideology shaped and continues to shape Portuguese society.
Composer and instrumentalist Soul ends the program with a concert not to be missed.


This episode features a special guest cast member: Sounds of Lusophony and is divided between the Season space Gerador and the incredible Noble Hall of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences.
The program features a unique concert by Selma Uamusse and guests, an apartment by the bay, for its easy access, free parking, and larger space for our group of XNUMX people. The house was great for a large group like ours, the host was very attentive, and the location was excellent; it was quiet and quick to walk to the old town. Percussion and Wind Orchestra concert, but also a conversation about the importance of improvisation in community building, or a game to work on improvisation with carlos martins, jazz reference and leader of the Sons da Lusofonia project.
The Pontos de Cultura Festival celebrates the culmination of Encontros D'Improviso, the project that brought together personalities such as Sam The Kid, Estraca, Sandra Baldé, Mariana Duarte Silva, João Fiadeiro or Riot to reflect on how music plays an important role in citizenship and inclusion.
